Motorcycle Theory Test
The UK motorcycle theory test app for riders moving on from CBT to an A1, A2 or full A licence. Revise all 707 DVSA questions across 15 topics, sit timed mock tests, practise on 46 hazard perception clips and read the complete Highway Code.
What the app does
Everything below is in the current iPhone and iPad version, which also runs as a native Mac app.
Four ways to get test-ready
For riders moving on from CBT to an A1, A2 or full A licence: the theory test is the same two parts as for car drivers, with questions written for riders.
Practice
All 707 DVSA revision questions across 15 topics, each with an explanation. Questions and answers are shuffled every time, with bookmarks for the ones you keep getting wrong and flash cards for quick recall.
Mock Test
Sit 50 questions against the clock, then review every answer. The real motorcycle theory test is 50 questions with a pass mark of 43; your attempt history shows how your scores are moving.
Hazard Perception
46 clips — 34 computer-generated and 12 filmed on real roads — scored in five windows the way DVSA scores them, so the earlier you respond, the more you score. Tap continuously to try to catch every window and the clip scores zero, exactly as it would on the real test. Then sit a mock hazard perception test and watch your score trend.
Highway Code
The complete Highway Code — 31 sections and 399 rules with 324 official illustrations. Search it, bookmark the rules you want to come back to, and pick up where you left off. “Rules for motorcyclists” and “Rules for drivers and motorcyclists” are the two sections written specifically for riders.
Written for riders
The rider-only topics
Motorcycle Handling (51 questions), Motorcycle Loading (29) and Safety and Your Motorcycle (77) cover cornering, riding in poor weather, carrying a pillion or luggage, and the checks you make before every ride. Nothing in a car test prepares you for them.
Taking your test in Northern Ireland?
Questions that are not used in Northern Ireland sit in their own NI Exempt topic, and the mock test never draws from them.
Read aloud
Questions and answers can be read to you in a British English voice, at the speed you choose.
Progress on every device
Topic progress, mock test history and Highway Code bookmarks sync over iCloud between your iPhone and iPad.
